A Professional Update on the New China Accounting Standards
[Hong Kong, March 2007] The new China accounting standards has become effective from 1 January 2007 to all listed issuers in China's market. In response to the needs of worldwide investors, as well as to raise their confidence on China's capital market, the listed issuers are required to provide more accurate and reliable accounting information. Thus, we were pleased to have been invited to participate in a seminar called "Convergence of China Accounting Standards (CAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs)" on 26 October 2006. The event was jointly organized by International Finance Manager Association (IFMA) and was supported by Hong Kong Productivity Council. Mr. Roy Lo, a partner of SHINEWING (HK) CPA Limited, was invited to be one of the honorable speakers to present this hot issue.
Due to the enthusiastic response, we were invited by International Finance Manager Association IFMA again on 22 March 2007 to deliver a seminar on the same topic. This time, Mr. Roy Lo and one of the partners in SHINEWING Shenzhen branch, Mr. Guo Jin Long, were invited as speakers. Participants were very keen to raise questions during the discussion section and the speakers were delighted to share their opinions with them.
