Zhang Ke, chairman of ShineWing,
is elected China's Outstanding Accountant in a nation-wide
nomination
[Hong Kong, 21 December, 2005] Marking the 20th anniversary of the implementation of
the "Law on Accountancy", the Ministry of Finance
awarded 20 outstanding accountants in China in recognition
of their exceptional professional achievements and contributions
to the development of China's accounting practice. Zhang
Ke, chairman of ShineWing Certified Public Accountants,
was among one of the 20 candidates being honoured at a
ceremony attended by Huang Ju, Member of the Politburo
of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee and Vice
Chairman of State Council on 19th December 2005.
The award is the third of its kind organized by the Minister
of Finance subsequent to earlier ones in 1995 and 1990.
As a leading industry figure, Zhang Ke played an active
role in the training and development of the accounting
profession in China. He is Vice Chairman of the Chinese
Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA), a member
of the Accountant Examination Committee of the Treasury
Department, as well as a part-time professor of Renmin
University of China. Zhang is recognised for his instrumental
role in driving the strategic alliance between ShineWing
CPA and Ho and Ho & Company in Hong Kong. The merger
creates the largest domestic CPA firm in the China and
Hong Kong region; and the first Chinese CPA firm fully
certified to operate in both areas. It represents a significant
step forward in the internationalization of China's professional
services.
